Alene has the week off work — but she doesn’t seem to equate that with vacation. She spent much of today working on Coursera homework. As it was my first day back in Seattle, I was a bit pissed off. She rounded off the day by meeting someone from her networking group at a Starbucks. When the meeting was over, I pressed Alene to not go home right away — but instead go for a pint of cider at the pub she and her ex were at on Saturday — and she finally agreed.
It was great! She got a good perch by herself from where she could watch the Royals-Blue Jays game on one screen — and the comical facial expressions of some chappy watching Monday Night Football on the other screen. I watched the same baseball game in the bar of my hotel — and it felt good to be home. We’re neither of us serious sports fans — not even close — but we’ve always enjoyed MLB playoffs — regardless of who’s playing.
I visited a few leasing offices in West Seattle today and I’m hopeful that I will be able to sign a lease on a studio by the end of this week. And then I’m going to insist on Alene having a lot more fun!
